48. I feel very frustrated.
너무 짜증이 나요.
단순히 화가 나고 짜증스러울 때는 대개 'annoy'라는 표현을 사용한다.
"These flies are annoying me." (파리들이 짜증나게 한다.) "I was annoyed with him because he kept interrupting." (그가 계속 방해해 나는 짜증이 났다.) 비슷한 의미로 'upset'도 있다.
"I'm really upset with my roommate because he is always snoring at night." (내 룸메이트가 밤마다 코를 골아 정말 짜증이 난다.) 그러나 어떤 일을 하려고 애를 쓰는데 잘 안 돼 실망하거나(disappointed) 만족하지 못해(dissatisfied) 짜증이 날 때는 'frustrated'라는 표현이 적절하다.
"She feels very frustrated now that she can't understand the teacher." (선생님의 말을 이해할 수 없어 그녀는 지금 굉장히 짜증이 난다.) "He is feeling tired and frustrated because he is working too much." (그는 지나치게 일을 많이 해 피곤하고 짜증스럽다.)
또 무엇인가에 불만이 있을 경우에도 쓴다.
"I'm feeling frustrated in my present job." (나는 현재의 직업이 불만스럽다.) 이 단어는 어떤 일을 좌절.무산시킨다는 뜻으로도 쓰인다.
"The bad weather frustrated our hopes of going out." (날씨가 좋지 않아 외출하려던 우리의 희망이 꺾이고 말았다.)
"The prisoner was frustrated in his attempt to escape by a watchful guard." (그 죄수는 탈출을 하려고 했으나 감시병 때문에 실패했다.)
A: I've been so busy this week, and next week is going to even be worse. I can't stand to think about it. This is too much! I feel very frustrated.
B: Hey, relax! You look terrible.
A: 이번 주에 너무 바빠. 그리고 다음 주는 더 바빠질거야. 이제 생각하기도 싫어. 나한테는 너무 힘에 부쳐. 너무 짜증이 나.
B: 긴장을 풀고 편안하게 생각해. 너무 힘들어 보여.
